About Us

Are Not Books is a micropublisher specializing in artists’ books and publications on topics related to contemporary art and design.

The imprint Far-Near Books focuses on topics related to spirituality, religion, history, and theology. “Far–Near” comes from the expression verr-bi in the work of the 13th century poet Hadewijch, and the writer John of Ruusbroec.

Are Not publications can be purchased as print-on-demand paperbacks at the cost of printing (without a publisher’s markup).
